Micah

Faixa 6

Micah speaks like court is open God calls the mountains to hear Samaria stands accused Jerusalem accused too

The charge is covenant sin Not confusion Not misunderstanding Covenant sin

They kept religious language But corruption ruled within The court is open What does the Lord require?

Not performance Not displayed

Do justice Love mercy Walk humbly With your God

The rulers hated justice They devoured the weak The prophets sold comfort To whoever paid to speak

Micah said the problem Was not sacred sound They were building Zion With blood in the ground

Blood in the ground Then the book turns, judgment is real But not the final word From Bethlehem, small among Judah

Comes the ruler from ancient days Not just a better king, the Messiah The shepherd who stands in the strength of the Lord Micah sees a future mountain

Zion is lifted high Nations come for teaching War is put aside Swords become plowshares

Spears become pruning hooks The judge of all nations Sets the world right What does the Lord require?

Do justice Love mercy Walk humbly With your God

Micah ends with pardon Who is a God like you? You pass over sin You keep covenant love

You cast sins down into the depths of the sea Courtroom Bethlehem Kingdom

Mercy God judges corruption But He remembers His promise
